Used delivery today. They are busy, they were late, I get it. Delivery guy was polite and helpful, I tipped him. When unpacking my stuff I realized my bag of potatoes had mold. When I grabbed one my finger sunk in and it squirted! Then the stink. So gross! I called and the girl who answered was of little help, telling me they could give me a credit. A big shout out to the Bakery at our home town HyVee in Ft. Madison! I had gone in and ordered a cake on Tuesday, to be picked up for a party on Saturday. All details on a handwritten note/picture of the desired decorations. Sent hubby to pick up Saturday for party-he called-and NO CAKE. Just had the absolute WORST Chinese food ever! Thanks for the soggy sesame bread dough (sesame chicken), soggy doughy egg rolls, and a disgusting crab rangoon! absolutely ridiculous to serve to anyone.
I don’t normally shop at this Hy-Vee, but was in the area and stopped quick. The strawberries were on sale 2/$5 and they’re my daughters favorite so I grabbed two. When I went to checkout, the clerk then informed me they were limiting each customer to 1 package of strawberries. I was really disappointed they were advertising this special in multiple places around the store, only to be told something different while checking out.
RecommendedI love this store. I’ve been shopping here for several years now. The produce & meat department are fantastic. The Hot deli selection is amazing. So many delicious choices. Staff has always been polite and helpful. I’ve also used the shop online and deliver service. Both great services. However, 3 of the last 5-6 times I have been here, I have had someone ask me for $$ in the parking lot. Yesterday, someone walked up to my car and knocked on my window. Startling.
