I was in the VCU Health psychiatric unit for 2 weeks. I received neither individual nor group counseling. So....what was the point of being in this unit other than lining the pockets of the CEOs of VCU Health? Oh, by the way, they fucking lost my jewelry! I am a sickle cell patient that was just denied proper treatment as set by my own hematlogist at VCU by Doctor Hyott (a ginger haired woman) I have been struggling with crisis and my doctor knows this and me and him have been actively working to cut down on the number of crisis. This doctor decided I was not deserving of my treatment plan and went on to make up her own which I refused to do seeing as how this was the exact same plan that I'd tried at home that wasn't working and led me to the ER to begin with. Based off of some good reviews I've seen I don't know if he was having a bad day or what but it was evident he didn't care and was rude. He made some comments about me that had nothing to do with why I came there. The wait time was longer than the doctor visit felt. He gave no information on what could have been/was wrong. The staff was much nicer than the doctor.
