This bank illegally withheld ALL of my funds and access to my account, all because I used their mobile deposit function. I have not had any problems with the bank before this occurrence, but I will be moving my money elsewhere and closing the account because of this. I recently moved from staying with my dad in Ohio back to California for a new job. While I was in Ohio I opened an account with Huntington Bank. I had given this bank a poor rating. The VP did call me to make sure everything was taken care of. I explained everything to him and everything is fine. I did appreciate him taklng the time to call me.

I have been with this bank for years and they still do not care about their customers at all! I wrote a check and post dated it for when I got paid. My bank took the check and cashed it two days prior which never showed in my account it was even been withdrawn. If I would have seen something pending it would have been taken care of! Where is the 24 grace???! It’s under their discretion if they want you to be able to use the 24 hour grace! False advertising! I have a lot of issues with individual employees of Huntington so I don't think it would be fair to judge Huntington as a whole for the incompetence of those individuals. I have also had some great experiences with other employees. However, I am most upset with Huntington referring me to ****************. This bank is awful and should not be allowed to remain in business. They allowed someone to open a fraudulent online checking account in my name without even the correct spelling of my last name which means it was never verified with the social security administration. Then they allowed that person to overdraft the account to the tune of almost $3000 without them ever putting a single penny into the account. This “national” bank literally stole my money. My husband and I moved to a new state and after his last PAYROLL checks arrived we deposited them into our newly opened checking account. A few days later Huntington deemed the checks suspicious they not only put a hold on the checks, they debited the checks OUT of our account while also being on hold putting us extremely negative. I went to close my account in OCT. 2020....was told everything was closed and only cash deposits could be taken. However once I brought my account to 0 to close my account they did not. Then in January they allow a check to be deposited, even though the account was suppose to be closed. The manager was rude and i'm surprised she made it that far in the banking industry being that way. Ms. ****** doesn't treat people with respect at all. I got a check for a fairly large sum from a friend out of state and deposited the check via ATM. Huntington in turn flagged my account for "suspicious activity" and froze my checking account for seven days. They said that this was done to "protect me". That's odd, I don't feel protected. I feel kinda ******because I can't pay overdue bills with cash, which is the only method they allow me to use with my frozen account, which they seem to have froze for no reason beyond depositing a check from a friend. Terrible! If I could give 0 stars I would. Some of the most shady characters out there. Even in closing out my account they charged me $75 THREE times because they said they didn't "see" the previous two payments (that I got confirmation from them that they had received). Absolutely unbelievable. They charge late fees for things that don't exist on payments that have already been given in full. Don't give yourself the headache. They're crooks - short and simple.
