When it opened in 1995, Hunter-Gatherer Brewery and Alehouse was the first of its kind in the city and is among the oldest South Carolinian brew pubs. That is because brew-pubs were allowed in the state after a law was passed in 1994. Its rustic-cozy ambiance is accentuated by antique light fixtures, African tribal decorative elements and wooden furnishing. Great menu and specials! Lunch on Friday is always fun. Jazz night on Thursday night's never disappoints either. Beer is really good as well, I especially like the pale and esb.
One of my favorite places to eat in Columbia. Eclectic charm and variety of great dishes.
