I was born in Elkhart, Indiana. We moved to California when I was quite young. My heritage and values are as midwestern as are most of the people whose parents settled in Orange County in the 1960s and 70s. I graduated from La Habra High School. Thereafter, I attended San Diego State where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Development. I received my Juris Doctorate from Western State University in Fullerton. My original goal was to become a medical doctor as I so admired anyone who worked in the healing arts. I found I had a greater aptitude to be a lawyer.
