This lively spot in the heart of River Street is located on the street level of the River Street Inn. A spirited bar is surrounded by a low-lit assortment of tables, opening up onto an extensive patio that lines the sidewalk for open air dining. Bayou cooking dominates the menu, with regional favorites from New Orleans such as beignets for breakfast, muffaletta sandwiches (or the veggie muffaletta) for lunch, and Pan-Fried Pork Chops for dinner. Don't miss the traditional red beans and rice, which comes with most entrees.

Back second year in a row for a Muffeleta sandwich and beignets with caramel pecan praline sauce.. Their coffee is top notch..my decisive factor in a quality restaurant. The hostess was absent when we arrived and we and three other guests waited some time to finally be seated by a waiter. Our waitress was, however, excellent and fast in serving us.( It should be noted that some guests left after the long wait to be seated and there were a number of empty tables.)
So I took my wife there for an early anniversary dinner due to our busy schedule. We were told the wait was 25 minutes. 40 minutes later I asked if they had our name right and told me we were coming up. Another 20 minutes later and multiple walk-ups being seated ahead of us we left. Fortunately for them my pregnant beautiful bride was craving a bignettes. So we went back 3 nights later to get a take out. We called 30 minutes in advance and were told it would be 25 minutes. Somehow, their "system" went down and 40 minutes aft... read more
The beignets were recommended by just about every local around and so worth it! Light and pillowy and covered in powdered sugar. Yum! My boyfriend ordered the crab cake Benedict and I had the fried chicken Benedict. Both were very good and fresh. You certainly leave feeling stuffed. If you go for brunch, order the Parmesan garlic cheese grits. So good!
The food was good and my server Bradley was excellent!
This was about our 5th visit to Huey's On The River, and it definitely will not be our last. We were seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive. The food was delicious as always!! I had the pan-seared scallops with wilted spinach over parmesan grits. My husband and son both enjoyed their shrimp po-boy sandwiches and our little one enjoyed fried chicken tenders and fresh fruit. We shared a delicious order of beignets to top off a delicious meal. We can't wait until our next visit to Savannah to enjoy another wonderfu... read more
The food was delicious. I had the French toast with pecan butter. My first thought was pecan butter how much flavor could that add? I can't even explain how delicious that pecan butter was and how much flavor it added to my French toast. I added a side of bacon. Very crispy just the way I like it. We were here for Brunch with a large group and were seated quickly and the food came out very quickly. I also had the begnet which was delicious. I tried the crab cake eggs Benedict also delicious. We had a wonderful meal. The wait... read more
