I applied for and received an HSBC card. They were offering 18 months of no interest on transfers. First it took multiple agents from their call center to even tell me why one of my transfers wasn't going through. They require a PO box, even from a tiny small town credit union. Then, after the transfers went through, a block was put on my card. If I could give it 0 stars I would. They sent me an application for 0% APR for transfer and purchase for a year. Sure enough I get charged interest and they say it's now only for transfer. Switch and bate. DO NOT GO WITH HSBC. There are so much better credit cards.
I simply tried to open a checking account with HSBC online which seems simple enough. Eleven days after I applied I finally decided to contact them to see what was going on. The phone number to the application department just leaves you on hold indefinitely. After 20 minutes I gave up and contacted them via the online chat. In all of my living days, I have NEVER come across a bank that offers a credit card where the processes and the employees are so inept, so backward, so incompetent, so behind in what is standard credit card practices. Talking to the employees is as effective as talking to drywall. A person would do better to go to New Delhi and stand in a bread line to get their banking and credit card paid.
