So, I started having H&R Block do my taxes again in 2018 after a divorce. On the tax return I had my daughter's education credit and they asked me how many times it had been claimed already as you can only claim it four years. I responded correctly as two (2). My mom filed her 2019 and 2020 taxes through H&R Block. She did not receive her 2nd stimulus check that she was supposed to get. The *** and H&R Block blamed each other, and my mom ended up having to pay roughly $70 to H&R to receive her stimulus check. This was supposed to be money to help people during the pandemic, but they decided to make a small payday out of it. SCAM SCAM SCAM! Do not do your taxes here if you can do them yourself. They made me pay over 400 dollars for my taxes, and it was not even that complicated. Then messed up my taxes and I haven't even gotten it back yet. Tax rep didn't even know what she was doing! Probably messed up more than just that. They can't even give me a chance to get a refund because their system is having "issues". I will NEVER go them again!
I uploaded all my tax information online, like I did last year. I uploaded everything in February. I kept looking at the site and was told my "Taxes were in process". The local office that does my taxes is amazing, friendly and helpful. for 2020 I had the tax identity shield feature added. It worked really well so I renewed it this year. The letter gave me the wrong web address to activate. The Membership code doesn't work on the correct web address. The customer service concierge hotline has been a nightmare of passive aggressive fake nice lies, hang-**** etc. They wouldn't take notes. Wouldn't create a case or give me a case number. They are supposed to be tax professionals but make critical errors on my tax return. Then they tell me they are going to refund my filing fee because the error caused me to have to take time from work and a delayed student loan that was on a dead line. The refunded filing fee of $100 never came. Called and was transferred to 4 different people. The 4th person never answered after a 50 minute wait. Terrible service.
You're better off going elsewhere to get your taxes done. I was a regular customer of h and r ********************** but that's all about to change. I got my taxes done there and I had worked for the *** for about a year so they did an employee audit on me. DO NOT WORK WITH H AND R BLOCK! We have been in a mess with them before taxes were do. MONTHS later, I am still trying to get my taxes filed. After a long month of not hearing a word from anyone despite my efforts to contact them, the tax "pros" excuse was, "I just kept putting it off...". We made an appointment with ********************** on ****** ** in ******* due to a notice we received from ******* about stimulus money in the amount of $1500 we potentially owed back. When we arrived for our appointment at 11:50am, our appointment was at noon, the lights were on, and a coat was on a chair, but the door was locked.
