I was looking for a tax preparer that would be cheaper than the one i had been using for years. When i called *** they said it would be $160. That was less than what my current tax preparer was charging so i decided to use *** at ***************************************************. When they got back in touch to let me know my taxes were finished i was informed it would be $288. I filed my taxes at your store (1735 first ave, ********, **) at the end of march. The first tax person I worked with in that store suddenly left for an extended vacation without informing me (I only found out when returning to the office to finish my returns.) So I was assigned another person a few days later. But that's not the worst.Last week I needed a copy of my 1040 so I activated my online H&R Block account. None of my 2020 tax forms are there. Wish I would have read these reviews before I took my taxes to them. I can see why they have such low ratings. We brought our taxes to them over a month ago. During that month, I went back and forth between them and my lawyer. The H & R employee was persistent that she needed me to fill out a form for an inheritance that I received. The lawyer was surprised that they were even asking for it, saying that they should know I did not need one. I am extremely disappointed and furious with the H&R Block located in ************ , ** . Unacceptable professional behavior in this office. In fact, they made an various errors on my tax forms. The tax prepare ***** ***** is awful and multiple attempts of correcting her mistakes still managed to the ruin the tax forms. If you received an email about your expired ****, double-check with ***. It may not be expired.After filing my tax with HRBlock web tool, I received an email from them saying my spouse's **** is expired and needs renewal. It also stated that although my filing will be accepted, I may not receive the refunds or credits until renewal. This was news to me so I first checked with *** website which contradicted what HRBlock said. I've been struggling to get my stimulus check from HR block for 4 months now. I received an email from them stating they couldn't do a direct deposit cause they had my old banking info and they were sending a check. The address they sent it to was also wrong and I sent a change of address form to them but never received the check. What a mess. I have spoken to 15 people, been hung up on, told to transfer to departments that don't have a phone number, and have still not spoken to anyone who can help me. This company is a literal joke - they are supposed to be tax experts and yet not one person can tell me what is going on with my taxes. I have filed a case, requested 3 separate call backs, and even switched tax pros. No updates, no communication, and no tax filing. FIGURE IT OUT. If i could give negative stars I would. "
