I went to H&R block (Eltingville, Staten Island, ****, *****) for a simple tax preparation, which turned into a very stressful ordeal for me. The tax advisor at this branch failed to file the appropriate tax form which led to me receiving a letter from the *** requesting the appropriate tax form & supporting documentation. I had to submit the additional tax form w/ supporting documentation to the *** at my own expense because my tax advisor didn't want to be bothered any further by their mistake. Used H&R Block for several years, in 2020 I filed my taxes using the online product. Paid the fees and filed my taxes like I have every year. Last year (two years later) started receiving letters that my 2020 state taxes did not go through. Ive heard the term glitch from not only H&R Block last year but also it was verified through IRS federal and state that H&R Block had problems that year.
