Absolutely terrible experience. The emergency room is a disaster I was left waiting for over 10 hours with no updates. The staff is extremely unprofessional and has a very negative, dismissive attitude toward patients. This hospital is very, very bad at managing care. Save yourself the stress and go somewhere else.
I must’ve lost my mind coming to this emergency room. Long wait, nonchalant doctors, and miscommunication. I’ve been here since 10pm, it’s now 5am.
I am writing regarding my experience in the Emergency Department at Howard University Hospital last night. I arrived severely dehydrated and actively vomiting, seeking urgent medical care. Instead of reassurance, I encountered an environment that was chaotic, unprofessional, and deeply concerning. Upon entering, the individual stationed at the podium was dismissive and unwelcoming. Went to the ER @ 6:30 pm today, waited about 30-40 minutes for someone to come to the service desk to assist me,”NEVER HAPPENED”!! So I got my shit and left!! No Security Guard or Nothing!! SAD & SORRY
I don’t know if these people read the comments, but they should…. To anyone thinking about coming here please read the comments! DO NOT I REPEAT, DO NOT COME TO THIS ER. Like everyone else has said you will wait 3 hrs just to register. Nurses are in the back socializing and on their phones; the only reason they noticed anyone was there was because the security guard had to ask one of the nurses “who’s doing registration?”.
