I've been staying hear since November 1st. I had been booking but for reasons they have been taking my money money without booking. All of a sudden they came to me and my wife at night aggressive trying to throw us out saying no refund saying customer complained about smoking. They have been taking money from me and just making a key. I thought they were being nice but tonight they came to me deep like demons. I was really blindsided. This whole area is bad. Try not to put yourself in a position where your only option is getting a room in Merrillville. You can tell this place was quite charming during better days. It's got that lodge/log cabin look and feel, has more character than most humans in 2025, and is nicely secluded back in a wooded area. Maybe a little too secluded considering the area. Just too run down and suspect for me not to warn everyone. But again, try not to stay anywhere along the I-65 corridor thru lake county.
