best prime rib of my life ... y punto! – I agree with all the reviews for The House of Prime Rib. This is THE place for prime rib. Please note, that the only choice you have in meats is what cut of prime rib you would like. That's right, no filet mignon, no bife de chorizo, or sweatbread here. The House of Prime Rib does one thing, one thing only, and one thing very well! I've had my share of prime rib, and the flavor of this beef and its sides is hands done the winner. You should also come to the house hungry, because you w... read more
NOT FOR A TABLE MORE THAN 10 PEOPLE – To my suprise, this place does not accept any party more than 10 on the weekends-fri, sat, sun. Ridiculous! So they would rather turn their customers away than trying to work something out. What great customer service they have! 5 thumbs down!
Look no further – Great food and great service SOMETIMES. It depends on your waiter. Some waiters are very cool, they will give you an extra piece of prime rib without you even asking for it. Other waiters will pretty much just ignore you your entire stay there. I've always been asked if I wanted an extra slice but one waiter just stood in the back and chatted it up w/ another waitress. Pretty annoying. None the less, great food, best prime rib in town.
Best Prime Rib. Pricey, but worth it – Excellent food. Prime Rib was absoloutely AMAZING! I can't wait to go back. Excellent Service!!! I would eat there at least once a week if I could afford it. Great atmosphere. I want to take everyone I know to the House of Prime Rib!
Good Prime Rib – The amount of food they serve is "a lot". This is a very good place for group dining and celebration. I don't think it is romantic though. The wait line is always long too.
There is better food in San Francisco – If you have $35/person (without drinks) to spend, don't go here! It was an interesting experience but the food was only average. I wouldn't go back. Service was good but not genuine. Their wine list is pathetic and incredibly overpriced ($30 for a bottle you can buy at the supermarket for $12). There are much better places to eat in San Francisco. It's a lot of food for you money, but I'd rather go to Houston's for steak than House of Prime Rib.
Mediocre knock-off to Lawry's – My husband and I love prime rib. We live in LA and frequent Lawry's Prime Rib in Beverly Hills. When we stayed in San Francisco, we were so eager to try House of Prime Rib especially because of the many raves we've heard. Honestly, I've never been so disappointed in my life. First of all, the carts, the spinning salad, the Yorkshire pudding all resembled what Lawry's did -- except it fell short in the area of taste. It was just missing something. There isn't the option of any other accompanime... read more
Good even on a busy night! – Took my girlfriend and her family there for Father's Day. Of course it was busy because where else can you go in the city for a great meal? It's best to have reservations, believe me; however, where I was thinking that the wait would be a few hours was really under 20 minutes. As always, the service, the food and the atmosphere was great for our party of 6. We were promptly attended and never felt as if we were being rushed out of there. Even on one of the busiest days to go, it was still worth i... read more
Best Prime Rib – Goodness. When I walked into this place, I knew my mouth was in for one heck of a ride. The entree comes with this deliciour salad (romaine, beets, bleu cheese...with raspberry vinagrette) freshly tossed at your table. Then they have this delicious corn bread and sourdough basket you can't resist. The plate of prime rib and creamed spinach is heavenly with an extra serving if you have that appetite. And lastly, their baked potato is icing on top of the cake loaded with sour cream, bacon, green onion..you kno... read more
