Went to House of India for the first time last night - ordered goat vindaloo and chicken Tikka to go. When I got home it was discovered that the chicken tikka dish was actually something completely different (with tofu and spinach). I called the restaurant and they were very confused on who I was and how my order was incorrect- I told them my name and the order and they still were unsure of who I was or what I ordered. Great Indian Food in a no fuss setting, love the private table in the back. Great service.
Main course dishes were delicious 🤤 The service was fantastic; the waiter was genuinely attentive, caring, polite and sweet. A little bit pricey but very tasty. Food was made fresh and quick.
My wife and I come here a lot for the food, spacious dining area and very personable staff. It's a family business. I think they take good care of everything and every one. We like the view, too, right in downtown.
COCKROACH ALERT and UPSET STOMACH ALERT !!!!!! ordered for pick up 2 nights ago. Spent 120.00 of food that was really not that good but THE BEST PART was going for the leftovers in the fridge dumping out the rice ( that we of course ate the night before but didnt get to the bottom) and finding a WHOLE ROACH in it ...yep ...NEVER EVER again ......and to be honest my daughter and I had upset stomachs that we were unsure was even from the food well now we know ... DONT EAT HERE !!!
Food is awesome. But the service 😳. Bring your appetite and your patience.
Yum! We moved out of the neighborhood a few years ago and seldom go back, but House of India is always a good reason to return. It was the perfect end to a great storytelling event at Cinema Arts: a wide variety of good foods, casual atmosphere, friendly service. If you like Indian cuisine, you can’t go wrong here.
