We had the greatest time visiting Houmas House. Our guide was amazing!! Her accent alone had us beaming but she also had such great knowledge of the property and it’s history. Unfortunately we cannot remember her name, but she was a blonde woman with an awesome true southern accent 😊. The grounds are beautiful and the way the house has been preserved was incredible. Thank you for such a fantastic experience!! It was definitely something completely unique to us 😊
Beautiful plantation home and gardens. Our tour guide did an excellent job, and our lunch and service at the Cafe’ Burnside afterwards was fantastic!
We recommend the breakfast and dinner dining room. It’s beautiful, elegant, and food was great. We stayed 2 nights and were treated like royalty. Grounds were gorgeous with the beautiful 500 and 600 yr old oak trees. Tour of the house was great as well. Such rich history to learn about. View of MS River from the levee was breathtaking. Overall very relaxing.
Had a fantastic visit. It’s the best plantation tour I’ve ever been to.
Very interesting history. Loved the gardens and old live oak trees.
I recommend everything about her! Best in Louisiana❣️❣️❣️
Really beautiful place to visit. Unlike other plantations, can take pictures inside the house. The gardens are just beautiful.
If you are in this area, I would highly recommend touring the Houmas House and the gardens. The tour guide was very informative, the history in the house is very interesting and the gardens are amazing. It was my first plantation tour so I really don’t have anything to compare it to, but I think it’s going to be hard to top this one.
Gorgeous and stunning experience!
