great place My best friend and I stayed here. Everything about the Valencia was beautiful. We stayed in a room with a balcony over the courtyard, which I highly recommend.

Location,location, location If you want to be where the action is, this is the place to stay. You are located right by the Riverwalk, which of course is one of San Antonio's main attractions. You can choose to have a Romantic weekend and enjoy the amenities of the Hotel itself, or you can party with friends on the Riverwalk and nearby restaurants. It is possible, if you are a complainer, that you will think your room is too noisy or the beds not as comfortable as you would like, but...you might as well stay home if you always expect perfection. You get what you pay for most of the time at Hotel Valencia.

You won't want to leave I could use one word to describe the hotel. SPECTACULAR! I stayed at the hotel with my mom and we didn't want to leave! The beds and linens were wonderful, modernly designed room and bathroom. Just across the street is the Riverwalk, and the restaurant has an outdoor balcony that overlooks the riverwalk. I would deff recommend staying here!

Something fishy about charges after our stay We wanted a little break in the routine, pre-paid online for a more expensive place than normally would. Did not use expensive valet parking, over-priced mini-bar items, or anything else during our stay. Noisy. Tub small. Had to remove feather bedding and pillows--allergies. Ate the breakfast buffet, when asked how it was, said some items were cold and tasteless. Told by mgr. it would be comped for both. Thought that was at least nice...until we notice the mysterious charges for over $100 on our card. I'm sure we'll work this out with persistence, but it does not make this a positive, relaxing experience, on the contrary it makes another problem to be solved. SIGH.

romantic It would be difficult to find a better hotel than this in SA. If you want something more modern and urban, you'll need to head north to Austin. I love the classical feel of everything and it made for a romantic weekend.
