Sadly Disappointed – My husband and I are staying at Inn at Virginia Mason, and passing this restaurant we decided to try it. It was a little after 5, so we think we were the first ones there for dinner. The antipasto was a VERY limited selection, with a small salad (really?) included, and took about 20 minutes to arrive. Rich ambience, excellent food and drinks – My wife and I decided to splurge for Valentine's day and stayed at the Sorrento Hotel for the weekend. The atmosphere at the bar and the lounge near the lobby is very warm and rich, with deep leather couches and dark wood. Dinner at the Hunt Club restaurant was amazing. Love the Sorrento Hotel Bar & Fireside Room – Love the Sorrento Hotel Bar and Fireside Room. Came here for a party, and was blown away by the beauty of the hotel. Great setup for mingling and walking around. I noticed they had a book about the history of the Sorrento Hotel and as I was flipping through it, it talked about the fabulous view from the bar. so I asked the staff if there was a bar/restaurant upstairs as well. So disappointing, I don't know where to start – It's hard to know where to start with my disappointment with the dining experience. It starts with the fact that I had made an online reservation and specifically noted that we were celebrating my parent's 40th anniversary. There was nothing that indicated that they knew that, particularly when they handed my dad the bill at the end of the meal. Our new favorite spot... – ...when it's time for Dine Around Seattle, that is! Otherwise, we flat-out can't afford it except for very special occasions. The Hunt Club is of course the restaurant in the Hotel Sorrento. Both are beautiful - a very well-maintained old building with character and lovely decor. Great atmosphere, great new chef – We had drinks here, those turned into dinner and I have to say I was impressed with the new menu/chef at the Hunt Club. We had kind of a preconceived notion that the place was snooty, but that couldn't have been farther from the truth. Tasty app's and a casual atmosphere were great.
Lousy across the board – Four of us dined here on 7/10 and were incredibly disappointed with the service and food. As long time Seattleites who have dined at the Hunt Club many times over the years, it's sad to see this restaurant decline. This used to be a "special occasion" place, but that's changed. My parents would like this place. – I read an article in seattle magazine featuring up and coming places in seattle. The fireside Room in the Hilton was listed. First off this place has been here for quite some time and cudos to them for trying to change the image by adding a happy hour to get a younger crowd in. Secondly if you want to have people come in for a happy hour perhaps it would be best if you had specific menus for the occasion. Beautiful venue, terrible management – We recently had our wedding and reception at the Sorrento Hotel. We felt it would be the perfect venue for a winter wedding - and it was. However, the management at the Sorrento was terrible. From the beginning, they failed to communicate with us, not returning e-mails or phone calls. As our date approached, we had to literally barge our way in to see the space so we could get measurements for our florist because the management did not respond to us.
