I’m glad I chose to stay at Hotel Madera with my daughter. Our trip was a bit intense — after 24 hours on a train, all we wanted was to drop our bags and explore the city freely. Large clean and modern room. Very quiet location.
I booked a room with a king size bed for a rate of $219, with tax included and the amenity fee the room ended up costing about $287. Once I checked out, I later realized I was charnged $345 without an explanation. Also the AC is not strong enough, the fridge is super tiny, there is no microwave in the room, and house keeping does not do a good job of keeping track which rooms still have guests vs which rooms are vacant before they barge in to start cleaning.
