Rooms are small, no microwave, overall environment and people are good
We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Hive! The room was smaller than a regular hotel (just as advertised) but was so cute and still the perfect size for two people even for a five night stay. The hotel itself is clean and in a great location for walking to all of the DC attractions. The area surrounding the hotel (including the parking deck) seemed very safe, even late in the evenings. This hotel was so cute and well decorated. Keep in mind this is a micro hotel so the rooms are definitely micro sized but comfortable for at least 2 people. The rooms were clean and the bed was very comfortable. The sound proofing sucked so you can hear pretty much everything going on outside and in the rooms next to you but it didn't bother us. The front desk was sooo friendly and accommodating. It's in a great location too. I would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Hotel Hive far exceeded our expectations. The website says that the rooms are small and that this is a "micro" hotel but we found the room to be perfectly spacious and comfortable. Same goes with the warning that the lower-priced rooms were a little noisy because they are under the bar. We slept great and didn't feel the room was any noisier than any other city hotel. We couldn’t have enjoyed this stay more! The building is beautiful, the area is nice/safe, and the staff were so friendly. Max and Kara were amazing and provided us with a number of great recommendations for our DC visit. Every staff member was so warm and welcoming. The area feels safe being next to GWU and the metro is only a short walk away. The building itself is incredible and they have a very nice rooftop patio.
