Named after the discoverer of Cook Inlet, this hotel was built in 1964 to demonstrate prosperity in Alaska. One of only a limited number of worldwide hotels with Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide status, it boasts 20 floors of teak paneling and a foyer that displays marble tiles and columns. This downtown location offers three restaurants to choose from including the Crows Nest, and one pub, Fletchers. The hotel offers spectacular views of the Chugach and Alaskan Mountain Ranges.

Employees very helpful and cordial. Great location, several restaurants and stores
Hotel Captain Cook is a very nice hotel that is conveniently located downtown near many restaurants and tour centers. The staff here is amazing, friendly and most helpful. Helpful. It is close to the airport, without having to hear the noise. I highly recommend this hotel if you are coming to Anchorage Alaska.
Ce tired downtown Anchorage. Nice accommodations.
Would not recommend Princess cruises should find a different location to use. This is not a family friendly hotel, nor very friendly in general. Their rooms are just ok. Toilet leaks, gave us extra towels... Decor is not cohesive I did like the Netflix option on the TV. I appreciate the air and fan. The elevators are so fast, it seems unsafe. The pool area and the separate mens and women's entrance was inconvenient and just very old way of thinking. My 9 year old had to go in the men's entrance on the other side of the hotel... read more
We were only here for one night this time. Junior suite is large with separate sitting and bed room with king bed. Bath room is small: single sink and separate room with toilet and bath/shower. Hot water came fast and was plentiful. A particular arrangement. Breakfast in the Pantry was fast and delicious. Located a few easy blocks from the Visitor’s center and many locally opened gift shops.
