Loved this place, however on my recent visit I was not pleased with the FACT that staff were handling the food without gloves. I watched as staff continuously picked up hotdog buns and passed the buns from one hand to the next. No one was using gloves. I observed staff picking up pickles with bare fingers. I asked why they were not using any gloves. Staff stated because we are certified by the health department and we are not required to.

Always plan a visit when I am on this side of town. The Chicago dog basket never disappoints. Love crushed ice in the fountain drinks. All followed up with Hershey’s ice cream. Worth the drive and the traffic.
