RecommendedMy experience at State College Hoss’s during “crazy requirement” season, was the best dine in service I have ever had! Tim was our host/server. Shout out to Tim “YOU NEED A RAISE”! Anyway Tim was so polite and well mannered that I would bring him in to my own home to server my family. Just like he did today! The cooks that made my salad “wouldn’t be surprised if it was Tim” bravo! Blackberry tea on point like always! That’s State college Hoss’s for the great lunch! Oh and the advice with garlic bread 😘
My family stopped by this evening to grab some hoss’s while in state college for the evening. My son always has lots of energy so we try to not eat out too often. Our server was Jordan and he was so friendly. Got our refills as soon as we needed them. Our food was amazing. My son was playing “stop sign” with our waiter and he played along with my son which you often don’t see when you go out to eat because everyone is so consumed by their jobs or aren’t kid friendly! I ordered a 16 oz T-bone steak medium rare. What I got was dried up low quality poorly cooked mystery meat. Tried to eat it kept getting worse. Can’t call that a steak. Absolutely terrible. Total waste of money McDonald is better. I feel bad for the people who order seafood there.
They had special on the sign for 9.99 then charged 14.99. When approached waitress about it we was told they made a mistake and would have to pay $14.99. When asked to speak to manager . The manager did not come but took $2 off the bill. The waitress was rude shaking her head and rolling her eyes. When we paid the the bill they only gave us dollars back and not the change. Thanks so much for our free Veteran's Day lunch. We enjoyed the food, the waitress was amazing and we heard stories from several vets!! So much fun. One man told us that he'd met his wife 79 years ago, then he chuckled and said "I chased her until she caught me!" So wonderful to see their love for each other. So hats off to Hoss's for good food and creating community! We'll be back!
I have noticed that some of the hot dishes on the bar were not hot-- more like warm. That was a concern to me for health purposes. I was with the understanding that the temperature of the food was checked periodically. Other than that, your service is good, and your dinners are very good.
Old barn style restaurant that is so much nicer than the new modern style of Hoss's. We stop there every time we are in town!
