They helped with caregiving of my father (at home)from 2010-2011 when he passed. They hollered at me when I couldn't answer the phone, they expected me to have it right on me at all time (I had to get a phone belt clip to satisfy them). I was his caregiver, they didn't call a lot of times before they came. If I was eating when they came, they expected me to leave my food get cold and help them. He had Alzheimer's disease and sometimes they made it harder for me when I already had a lot on me.
My mother was with Hospice Savannah for months following a bout with pneumonia, Frankie her nurse was wonderful. Unfortunately Mom fell in January and broke her hip. Her stay at Hospice House was wonderful ( given the circumstances). EVERYONE was fantastic!!! The facility is beautiful and so are the people! I can’t say enough or give thanks enough for what everyone did in a truly life shattering time. Thank you so much!!!
My mother transitioned at Hospice Savannah in August, 2023 while on a scheduled respite visit. The staff had always treated Mom with genuine care and this was no different. When we arrived to see Mom, we were treated with care as they prepared us to see her. They had changed Mom into her clean gown, brushed her hair, folded her hands and placed a flower in her hands. As a four plus year veteran nurse of Hospice Savannah, I would love to share some heartfelt thoughts as my time has come to an end at the HIPU. There are angels(nurses)that will care for your loved ones if they are admitted to the inpatient unit, ask for them by name, Hannah, Nola, Rhonda, Jacob or Becca(dayshift).
