Watching my father suffer in his final hours without care or support from these hospice nurses is really beyond imagination. It’s any human’s worst nightmare. No follow-ups, no returned calls, no respect, and NO professionalism. Need the medication they promised? Too bad - it’s the weekend and they’re off work. Need something immediately? My mother was under hospice care and I arranged a 5-day respite visit for her so I could have a break. She was mistreated by staff after one aide hurt her by turning her roughly and she let the nurse know. I called the nursing director about what was happening immediately after I heard over the phone what they were saying to her. The aide and 2 coworkers went to her room in a group of 3, called her names, told her no one would listen to her, and gave her dirty utensils with her meal so she couldn’t eat. Very caring staff member came to the hospital when our family was going through an extremely difficult time. She explained options and advocated strongly for our family member to go to hospice house. We were so appreciative of all of this however when we got to the hospice house, we learned they would not give pain medicine at the same frequency the hospital did. This was unnecessarily very stressful at a stressful time and could have been explained before.

My dad was in hospice for 10 months. His nurse jen and his aide Joey were a god send. I can't say enough good things about these 2 people and any one that I came in contact with at VIA. Their compassion care, and humor were so appreciated. I highly recommend this company and the people
