The food is good but service it just plain terrible. The first time I went in there was maybe 6 tables seated and we waited 5 minutes for someone to take our drink order and we never got refills. Forgot about it because food was good. Second time we went there were literally 3 tables seated and we were seated in perfect view of the kitchen doors, waited 10 minutes and no one ever took our drink order or even acknowledged us. First time I have ever walked out of a restaurant and don't plan on going back again.
The Horny Toad is like an oasis in the desert for a country girl like me! The decor and and atmosphere are southwestern perfection! There's a charm here that's special and missing from so many places these days! I love everything I've had on their menu and Tim and Wendy always make my family feel at home. The food is too die for, there is NOTHING bland about the food here, it's unique and got a kick to it! I love The Horny Toad Cafe & Bar!
We waited 5 mins for a drink order when there was only 3 other tables. Our appetizer when it came was cold. When we got our food the burger was under cooked they didn't put cheese or sides with it, the fries were cold. When we sent it back the server asked if we would like another burger, well yes I'm hungry I would just prefer it to be warm and prepped properly. Restaurant that has a chef, who actually cares what his food tastes like! Food is amazing, keep up with it and you will be "Best Of Denton" year after year after year!
The sourdough chicken fried steak is the stuff of Southern dreams!
Eat here weekly, sometimes more than once! I LOVE this small restaurant! The food is mamas home cooked kind of food & the staff is amazing!
