Horizons is absolutely horrible with screening patients and getting them transferred to inpatient units from the ER. Often patients wait 6-8 hours or more, which is deplorable and unsafe for the patients, their families, ER staff, and other patients in the hospital. The screeners drop their patients like a hot potato when they end their shift, and nurses have to call in repeatedly to get anywhere with placement for seriously ill psych patients.
