The meat is great and the owner is super knowledgeable and is always willing to answer questions.
I visited Homestead Meats for the first time yesterday, and bought some chicken and pastrami to give them a try. They were very nice and helpful. I've tried the pastrami and it's head and shoulders above any other pastrami I've ever eaten! I'm looking forward to the chicken this weekend.
Very refreshing to find such a quality neighborhood butcher! Super thoughtful about sourcing. Excellent fresh cuts of high quality beef! Superb select of fresh local poultry. Visited this Evanston location from my home in DesPlaines. Excellent staff. Worth the trip.
Really exceptional place. Most interesting and creative house made sausage selection - Thai - Merguez - Toulouse - chorizo - etc - really amazing. I don’t know if any butcher with this sophisticated a repertoire anywhere in Illinois. The meat offerings / cuts are also very unique.
