I’m in Thunder Bay once a month. Normally stay at Towne Suites but thought I’d try Hime2. Due to Air Canada strike, my trip to Thunder Bay was cancelled. Called to notify the hotel more than 24 hours in advance and was charged full room rate. A little heavy handed. Contacted customer relations and they told me nothing they could do. I had to call hotel directly for resolution (why? Are these franchises?). Call the hotel and they told me to call back another day when the Manager was working.
My flight was cancelled due to the labour action starting Saturday August 16, 2025. Therefore, I'm unable to get to Thunder Bay; and need to cancel the reservation for the same date. The hotel staff has said that they are unable / unwilling to refund the "no show" cancellation fee of $299 for the reservation. I'm hoping to get this resolved with Domenic, the Hotel Manager in the next few days.
