We had Lorraine for my mom on Saturday mornings and could not have been happier. This past weekend Mom was ill and Lorraine took such good care of her, went with me to the doctor and to get x rays and bloodwork and took initiative when I needed her to without my asking. She is so hard working, responsible, and most important, she is incredibly kind. Mom loves her. Update: After 8 months later with Home Helpers, they left me high and dry 2 days before a scheduled shift by firing us because my needs for my 93 year old, bedridden mother are "ad hoc" shifts. I was very upfront with my needs during the "interview" phase. I spoke to a sales person, a head nurse and the caregiver supervisor explaining my needs that I just need caregivers when I have dinner plans, events, vacations, or long weekends, all which were requested well in advance. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish with Home Helpers. Our first contact was Bernadette, the nurse care manager. She came to the hospital to meet our mom and then spent a lot of time answering all of our questions. When our mom came home from the hospital they had coverage ready for us right away. Our mom had recently had a stroke and had spent nearly 3 weeks in the hospital and rehab. Mom's live-in caregiver, Lisa, was fabulous.
