9/11 was a hard day for a lot of people, and I understand that. However, our experience going to the ER at HMC was a long and extremely frustrating mission. My wife called her provider at Trinity in Chicopee to make an appointment because she was experiencing heart palpitations, dizziness, and fatigue. She explained these symptoms to the nurse, who advised her to go to the ER. Excellent care. I was at the Palmer Hospital for 8hrs and had vitals and x-ray done. I left the Palmer Hospital and went to Holyoke. Vitals and x-ray done. Had a room and nurse came in often and doctor was busy but made time to hear what was going on with me. He ordered multiple test. Told me what it was and medication I will need and follow up with my doctor. I was able to get through the weekend. Big thank you to the emergency room staff!!!
The staff here are all so nice and this was the first hospital since going to Western Mass where I actually felt comfortable and they had me in and out.
I've been a patient of Dr Mateen for almost 10 years. Even after I moved to Ct I still was in her care and had phlebotomies at the blood bank.. Today's visit severed that relationship. No body called me to tell me her office was being renovated. After I discovered that some other employee sent me up stairs only to be told she's actually across the street. Exceptional care from beginning to end. I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience at Holyoke Medical Center. My son underwent a major orthopedic procedure, and from the moment we arrived, the entire staff treated us with professionalism, kindness, patience, and genuine compassion.
