I spent 10 hours in ER before being admitted for a severe case of colitis. Spent three days in hospital. Every day there was a different hospitalist (once it was a Nurse Practitioner who referred to herself as Dr. even though she was not an M.D.) Hospitalists did not confer with each other or with the GI specialist who serves as a consultant. This is a terrible choice for neurological care or parkinsons. I have parkinsons and had some sort of stroke or TIA. These are extremely serious and have a 20% mortality rate for one year. But I received no relevant treatment from the hospital with the exception of an aspirin. Persons next to me had strokes and had no care. I asked for transport to Georgetown Hospital and the hospital refused unless I checked my self out against advice and paid the $2000 charge. Worst ER experience of my life. Staff was rude, dismissive and not thorough. Will never go back and will tell all my friends in Silver Spring/MoCo to never go.
