This hotel is one of the two nicest hotels in downtown Salem and it is the newer of the two. Unfortunately, many of the high end conveniences you would expect from a new hotel were lacking. My room had a replacement TV that did not have easy access to streaming services (the type that automatically logs you out upon check-out) I could not use the app "remote" either to control the room--as it's linked to the TV. We live in Tacoma and come down to Salem for Willamette Valley Vineyards annual owner weekend in July. We usually stay at the Salem Grand, but this year WVV had a block of rooms here and we really loved it. It is a sleek, modern hotel with clean, comfortable rooms. We stayed in a kitchenette suite that was really spacious and had floor to ceiling windows. Kitchen had a full size dishwasher, fridge and cooktop so it could even be good for a long-term stay. At the center of what makes this hotel AMAZING is the staff and the service. I am quite a handful to deal with, but every single person on staff has been friendly, helpful, and unwaveringly accommodating to me and my cats and even my sister's dog when she's come to visit me. I've changed my reservation SEVERAL times, and I've made MANY strange requests from the staff, but I really have nothing to criticize. A+, well, done and thank you to everyone who works at this hotel, especially Megan!
