Evasive about insurance and overpriced crowns. When I asked if they accepted CIGNA they said yes. They did not inform me that they were out of network. I went to get a second opinion as they recommended I get 4 crowns, at $1990 each. I did need 4 crowns, but the other dental office was only charging $1500 per crown. So despite having outstanding bill because the insurance did not cover my initial appointment,I saved $2000 by getting a second opinion.
I have been a patient at Holman Family Dental Care for about five years and have witnessed their growth and transformation over time. However, I've noticed that with this growth, there seems to be a shift in their approach towards patients, particularly with the front desk staff. While I've always received excellent care from the nurses and the doctor, my recent experience has left me frustrated. Good level of care, but surprise bills. We received a bill months after the procedure, and being told we were paid in full, for an additional $400. This was supposedly due to a “clerical error”, but the office would not call me back to explain. Dr. Holman also really pushed chiropractors for my infant son. We went based on her recommendation and had a bad experience. I wish we went with the tongue tie center at Wake pediatric density. Their staff was much more professional and great at communication.
