Fresh ricotta and mozzarella balance the pies in an excellent manner to create amazing pizzas.

My first time visiting Hollywood Pies was a blast. It can be easy to miss if you're driving on Pico Blvd. It's a small, nondescript place, but the food packs a punch. Some say it's the best Chicago deep dish outside of Chicago, and the food certainly doesn't disappoint. This pizza was everything I had hopped for the crust was wonderful! Couldn't have asked for a better pizza. The restaurant itself is very basic they don't have drink selections or a trash can. The lack of a bathroom was also a little disappointing but the food made up for everything!
Food is delicious, though the atmosphere is much more of a carry-out pizza place than a sit-down restaurant.
Deep dish Chicago pie. Hollywood Pies is amazing. Be careful... a small pie stuffs two people. Learned that the hard way when we ordered the large and we're eating pizza for days. It wasn't so bad really to have that much left overs. Flaky crust, homemade sausage, tomato sauce that tastes home made. Also beware, this is no frills pickup joint only. No delivery and if you want to eat your pie in the shop there are tables set up, but no service.
