It is clear that policies are often implemented by someone in management capacity who has no understanding of the needs and issues of the population they are supposed to serve. Issues are often dismissed with "this is independent living". Clearly, there is no ability to distinguish the difference in asking someone to take care of you and in having facilities and policies that address the unique needs and situations of a senior population. There is no where to go with an issue when management won't even respond. Ex: It took years to get push buttons to automate opening the main front door. Try opening a heavy front door on a walker with an arm full of groceries. Management took out our cable to replace with one that many months later doesn't work. We no longer call the office but are made to take on the burden of dealing with the provider- even if we are too sick to have that level of energy. Mgt has not responded to my phone messages or letter, takes no responsibility to provide.
