We signed on for a 'Caribbean' cruise with Holland America Feb of 2018. Aside from the work of their cabin stewards and dining room waiters, we found their customer service to leave a lot to be desired. 'Guest Services' (where their customer service should shine) is a joke...they only know how to respond, "it's our policy" when any kind of simple request is made...there is no bending. While we were on the Holland America land and sea last month (September 2017) several things happened that I would want to have been warned of before I took the trip: 1. They tell you to book your next cruise while on the ship and you will get a FANTASTIC deal...this is not the case! The cruise my husband and I were interested in was the month long trip to the southern Caribbean and amazon. They sold it to us for over $13K...we found out when we got home that the trip is offered this year (and two days longer) for $8.7k!! Wh... read more
Horrible cruise line! I took a 2 week cruise with them and they cancelled 3 of the 7 ports of call, so we were stuck on the boat for a LONG time! We had booked 2 shore excursions for those cancelled ports of call and because the cruise line cancelled the tour, we couldn't even get a refund. The cruise line didn't even apologize for the inconvenience and didn't compensate us in any way shape or form!!!!
