I booked a cruise, 2 rooms, 10/2019. In good faith, I paid the cruise off in full. When it came time for a refund, it has been nothing but a headache. COVID hit and because I utilized Orbitz.com for the booking agent - I cannot get any help from Holland America. The Canadian border closed to cruises and I have been trying to get my money back since early 2020. I booked two cruises with Holland America in May. Both were cancelled due to the fact that they sold the ships we were to cruise on. I requested a refund, they owe me $5,658, and have yet to receive it after three months. I called and the recording referred me to an email address. I sent them a message at this address and it came back saying that the address was not valid. am i getting ripped off? I encourage everyone to avoid this cruise line and their sister companies. They cannot be trusted.

last summer (2019) I made reservations for a class reunion cruise. Holland America was very prompt in taking the the payments out of my credit card. Fast forward to Covid-19 hitting and the cruise being cancelled. I called to get a status on my refund 2 times in April and was told i would be expedited and to expect my refund by the 11th of May. May 13th no refund, i call again and was told sorry its just taking time and I could probably expect sometime. I spoke with 2 supervisors and with 2 different "Resolution Specialists"... read more

I called them to cancel the cruise due to the Corona virus outbreak. there was a miscommunication on how the refund would be disbursed. I called back and asked to speak to a supervisor and they put me on hold and then disconnected the call

January 4- January 11, 2020. Cabin #****. Nieuw Amsterdam from Ft. Lauderdale Day 1- The Captain of our ship, the Nieuw Amsterdam, announces that a new propulsion system recently installed, has broken down. He says not to worry because the ship is able to move on the remaining system. However, Holland America has cancelled the stop in St. Maarten because it’s too far on this engine. They have substituted a shorter route to St. Croix. Captain says the U.S Coast Guard has said the ship is safe. Great! Now, something to worry a... read more

The biggest complaint I have regards to how the staff handled an incident with a bingo game. By the rules they have made in regards to how bingo worked, I should have won along with a couple of other people, for the rule is that once a number has been called than any previous bingos unmentioned will not be rewarded. We booked our Southeast Asia cruise (******) on the Westerdam (January 2 - 17) through ********** this past August 2018, together with 3 other couples. We had paid $3,932.00 for our veranda stateroom on deck 5, *******. This was supposedly in the highest category of veranda staterooms. Two of the other couples had adjacent veranda staterooms in the same “A” category. The 4th couple had paid for an inside cabin. Purchased a cruise to Cuba on 5-8-18 with a stop in Roatan Honduras. thru my travel agent. Made final payment on 10-20-2018. On 11-21-2018 I printed out my cruise documents and started looking to book shore excursions in advance of the cruise. When I got to Roatan, I did not see any options. I called Guest Relations and was told that the ship was not going to be stopping in Roatan. The itinerary changed on 10-16-2018. This is the worst and most unethical cruise line with respect to customer relations, whether it is on the ship or their main office. I took an Alskan cruise with them in September 2018 and the ship was to take the inside passage to Glacier Bay with other ports along the way. However, one of the passengers fell ill and had to be discharged and was picked up by the US Coast Guard.
