I always love my fairfield stays and this was no different, we arrive pretty late because our intention for the night was to camp at Congaree but of course it was storming horrifically so instead I booked a night here and we arrived around 1am. It took maybe ten minutes to check in but I was so tired that I didn’t mind it. Charged me for parking despite telling them I don't have a car. Didn't ask if we need room service on a 3 day stay. Pillows are crap. There is nothing really in walking distance. As a Titanium who stays in a lot of Marriotts, this one wasn't horrendous, but below average.

I recently experienced a medical emergency involving a fellow Army veteran whom I consider a brother. Because of the seriousness of the situation, I contacted the hotel and spoke with an employee named Toby to ask whether my reservation could be postponed. Unfortunately, the conversation felt very dismissive and lacked compassion. I explained that this was an unexpected medical emergency and that I had successfully postponed reservations by phone in the past without any problems. If you stay request an odd numbered room so you don’t have to listen to the traffic which is VERY loud. The AC unit in the room also had a loud squeak so it was a challenging night of sleep. Front desk clerk at check-in was very friendly and the breakfast is well stocked.

There was ice-cream left in fridge from previous guest and a light out in bathroom. However I booked the room at 89 plus tax on the app, checked my statement few days after departure $153. My room was changed(not by me) from 2 beds to 1 king. Called several times to question it, no one ever answered. Front Desk was friendly but still not sure wht I was charged $153.
