My office purchased a barrel transducer less than one year ago from Hokanson. We stored it in a desk drawer in its bubble wrap for several months. About two weeks ago, we opened the brand new unit to place in service, but the unit was obviously not working properly, so we returned it thinking that it should be replaced under warranty, especially since it had never been used until now.
