The world is your oyster – I had my first oyster eating experience on Saturday at Hog Island and I loved it! The oysters were so fresh and delicious. The waiter was attentive and very knowledgeable about the variety of we ordered. We also ordered the steamer and clam chowder. They literally looked like the same dish. The clam chowder was more like clams in a broth than a traditional soup, so I’d suggest ordering one or the other, but not both. I also snuck a peek at someone’s grilled cheese sandwich and it looked really good... read more

Hog Island I really enjoyed the afternoon here. The oysters are very fresh and buttery. We had a chance to also check out their oyster farm up north and also had a great time in their picnic area.

If you like oysters, it's the place to be I love going to Hog Island for $1 oysters on Mondays and Thursdays. They have the best grilled cheese sandwich. Get there early for happy hour! The staff is really nice and they do well with the crowd. They are quick on service and their bread and butter tastes awesome too.

Oysters and Wine – If you are at the pier, this is a great place to have a tasty lunch or snack. my sister and I ordered a couple dozen oysters and a bowl of clam chowder. the soup was really good kind of broth like with leeks potatoes and bacon,,,different but good. add a nice glass of wine or champaign to that and you have the perfect setting.

freshest oyster Hog Island Oyster Co has the freshest oysters I have ever eaten. The eatery in the Ferry Building is small with only a counter and a few tables inside and out. But that is just enough. We also order the steamed baby clams and a grilled cheese sandwich made with cheese from Cowgirl Creamery. These two along with the oysters make a wonderful lunch for our family.

Still remember the taste We had lunch here the last time we were in San Francisco, and ordered fresh oysters, of course. These oysters were the freshest I have ever tasted, and each bite tasted like the sea. We sat outside, and had the magnificent view that the Ferry Building offers. All in all, it was an enjoyable relaxing delicious experience which I wouldn't mind repeating in the near future.

Fresh This restaurant is in the Ferry Building, which is a treat in itself. After wandering through, stop here and sit at the bar. You can look out at the bar while you have a pint and some of the freshest oysters ever. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

Great oysters and beautiful view – This was the first time I've ever been to an "oyster restaurant". Oysters were delicious! If you don't want to spend that much money and you're hungry, you should eat the grilled cheese sandwich to get you a little full and then have some raw oysters! What's crazy is I normally don't eat raw oysters, but these were very very good! The oysters are small, yes- but I was told by a friend that the smaller they are, the more flavorful it will be. And yes, that was sooo true. We tried making it t... read more

Shellfish!!! I know it's called the Hog Island Oyster (emphasis on Oyster) Company, but they have some of the best steamed clams I've ever had. A perfect amount of white wine, butter, and garlic! Don't get me wrong. The oyster shooters are great too. Go for happy hour and get a pretty good deal. But try and go early because it can get really crowded!
