Sites are unique and beautiful. Trails can be a bit challenging, but not impossible. Great place to hike! Can't wait to go back.
Hocking Hills State Park is one of my favorite places. The park is beautiful and a wonderful place to spend a day hiking. I am beyond disgusted though with humans leaving evidence of their presence everywhere and not being respectful of the forest's fragile ecosystem. It really is an easy concept, pick up your trash and leave NOTHING behind and stay on the designated trails. Parents of children, you ARE responsible to pick up after them. And if you are going to chew gum, find a trash can or swallow it for God's sake. PLEASE ... read more
I may be a little stubborn but... Been almost 30 years since i visited here... The forest is awesome as all forests are.. That holds the same.. But was just here today... Total dissapointment..!! The natural wildlife is gone , the natural trails are just man made misery now.. How did this happen..??? Who was the decision maker on the downfall of this place? Also lack of rules by humans... No wonder things are the way they are... Terrible and dissapointed...
We have a very large 5th wheel and were unable to fit. We requested a site one over and were told it was taken and could not switch. We switched with our son in law who had already set up. The land was bowl shaped, the rain made it very slippery. Great for hikers who aren’t afraid to hike. There is even a trail without stairs for wheelchairs.
Awesome place to hike. Be safe and stay on the trails.
