If your in Newark and have a little time...I'd been wondering if East Coast Pastrami was all that? It is, and the nicest folks work there. A group of Army officers came in and one had to have a gluten-free meal. The owner personally went and checked to be certain that none of the ingredients would contain gluten then made the meal and delivered it. It was a great show of care and respect. I'll be back for sure.
Hobby's is the best. We especially love going there before devils games. Down home comfort foods being served by wonderfully friendly wait staff. Reasonably priced with a hockey related menu for game days. The owners are always hands on and make good on any mistakes that may be made by kitchen or wait staff! Recommend this long-traditional deli!
Hands down, the best deli in northern New Jersey. My favorite sandwich is the Hat Trick with corned beef, Pastrami and beef brisket on triple decker rye with coleslaw and Russian dressing... absolutely to die for!
