The Himalaya Restaurant the food really is exceptional and the prices reasonable. First of all, for those culturally sensitive, this is a Pakistani restaurant so the dishes are very similar to Northern Indian cuisine. This means there are lots of goat and lamb choices, biryanis (rice), and kebabs. Try the Gola Kebabs (the most amazingly tender grilled beef) with garlic naan hot out of the oven, washed down with mango lassi, and finish with the Rabri Walli Kheer-an almond rice pudding. Assshole owner sucks, Food is good but the owner and service sucks a big time. The owner doesnt have any manners and he always forced customers to order more than required. Also he doesnt treat his employees, cook and his wife in proper way, always abusing them using very indecent , slang and cheapest language one could ever hear in public places.
Owner's Angry Tantrum & Blatant Dishonesty Ruined Dining Experience The food at Himalaya is average for Indian cuisine compared with other similar restaurants in the Houston area and overpriced for the quality. Leftover menu items prepared for lunch are served again for dinner, albeit much drier and less appealing for the wear. There is absolutely no ambience. The owner (chef Kaiser Lashkari) has his cluttered desk placed prominently within the dining area where employees take turns reclining in a chair while rubbing their e... read more
ccc The previous reviewers were being kind. One was charged $5 to use the bathroom? Ha! I was charged $10. And to make matters worse, the owner followed me into the bathroom and cleaned the toilet by hand while I was washing up afterward. To make matters worse, he proceeded directly to the kitchen where I spied him preparing a meal for a young couple on their honeymoon - with unwashed hands!. I came to Himalaya with my heart set on Chicken Tikka, but the owner, after insulting my wife, bullied me into ordering the goat birya... read more

Love this place! Can’t find better Indian/Pakistaní food than this restaurant in the state!
Great food, service, and variety
Absolutely amazing. This food coma is well deserved.
We ordered take out yesterday. Instead of the mixed grill we were given the special mixed. Chicken and steak were good. The meat kabobs were mealy with poor texture and Unappetizing. Tindora described as presented in a mild tomato sauce was instead it was coated in spices including dry hot chilies with no sauce whatsoever. The rice was fine. Despite the reviews from Bourdain and Zimmerman your food is forgettable.
Hade dinner with good friends there and sampled a bit of everything from the menu. everything was absolutely delicious! Great customer service as well, will definitely go back and recommend to friends.
