½ – Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta NE/Gwinnett Sugarloaf Overall, it wasn’t a bad stay. The lobby staff was polite, nice, and inviting upon arrival, which made check-in smooth. However, I did run into issues with early check-in. Even after calling ahead, the staff was rude and unsupportive when it came to accommodating an earlier arrival, and they charge extra for it. This Hilton is in need of a makeover. I did like the suite we had, even though there was evidence of water damage. The fitness center is terrible. I’ve stayed here 7 times, and have consistently asked to at least purchase the missing dumbbells, but still nothing has been done to the area since the 90s. Worst part, the women at the desk acted like they wanted to be anywhere else but there. When you walk in, they look up from their phone and say “Welcome,” only to return to the phone. Good location in an area that I frequent. I usually love Hilton Garden Inn’s, but this one has a few issues. The “bar” is a make shift set up on a table next to check in. The digital keys didn’t work & stayed in requested status. The hallways were hot. Inside the room, the bathroom door wouldn’t stay open & was also hot. The evening we stayed there, the tv lost its signal. I called downstairs & they said “power outage”, but lights & AC never stopped.
