Highly Recommend Hillside Veterinary Hospital!!! We adopted a Lab mix puppy about a year and half ago from someone who does Lab Rescue. Imagine our surprise to find out that 1 of the Vets at Hillside actually lived across the street from where we adopted our puppy! Dr. Atkinson has been caring for our puppy ever since the beginning and we are thrilled. First visit was great! My little black cat, Neo, is usually a wreck when we go to the Vet, so I was expecting a terrible experience on our first visit to a new place. But, Dr. Masters was wonderful with my little scardy cat and he's going to be all better soon. We both appreciated the separate entrance for kitties vs. doggies. I definitely recommend this office!
Dr. Olcott was Wonderful with our Kitty I've not been one to go overboard (sorry for you guys out there that think this is horrible) with all the Xtreme vet visits for animals. I don't for myself either. But, I do believe in seeing their needs are taken care of. We took our Kitty in for her 2nd shot since her other Dr. retired and Dr. Olcott was wonderful. The Best Dr's Around ! Dr. Masters , & Dr. Roberts always go the extra mile for my dogs. Calling back to check on their progress not just once but until they hear the kid is all better again. Even calling after hours if necessary. Having Pekingese which I show at AKC events it is of the utmost importance to find a vet familiar with the breed as their faces are flat & can be very difficult to sedate ect. Dr. Olcott is Great!! Steer clear of Dr. Masters!! My cat has been seeing Dr. Olcott and she is absolutely wonderful with her!! She has been doing acupuncture and it has made a world of difference. I would steer clear of Dr. Masters though. He has an "I can do anything, regardless of how the animal is feeling" approach and know first hand that he has been severely bitten because he pushed a sick dog way too far even after the owner had asked to leave the dog alone for a little bit to let him relax. Dr. Janet Olcott is one of the best veterinarians I have ever seen I travel 2 hours from Pennsylvania to see Dr. Olcott. She is kind, gentle and caring to my cat with cancer, and she has gone above and beyond the call of duty in assisting me. She blends a holistic approach (my request) with an allopathic approach and is very practical in her therapy recommendations. Because of the distance I must travel, she works out therapeutic nuances by email so I don't have to travel so often.
Super Vets All Around I love Hillside. After relocating to WV from NYC I was nervous about finding a good vet but every Dr. I have worked with at Hillside has been outstanding. I can never remember people's names but I have been there 5 times and have appreciated every Dr. there. Highly recommended!!!
horrible Dr. Roberts is WAY to quick with clients, does not explain what is going on, and I couldn't believe how egotistical he is!! very cocky and views everything (and everybody) as dollar signs, not actual people with feelings!! Couldn't Ask for More! I've traveled the country and lived in five states and have never found a veterinarian as good as Dr. Masters at Hillside. His animal handling skills are amazing. And, to top that off, he's pretty good with pet owners too! Hillside Veterinary Hospital is by far the best in its class in the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia and beyond.
