When I went to deliver my baby at Fairview, the midwife Susan displayed religious discrimination towards me saying I was “high-risk” simply for not accepting a blood transfusion if there was an emergency, (There was no reason to make them think there would be) and she flatly refused to provide care which caused me to transfer to Baystate while in labor. I asked her, are you telling me that Fairview does not provide care for Jehovah’s Witnesses? She could not give me an answer. The doctors and nurses and Baystate were at awe ... read more
