Highland hills has been the worst experience ever. I don’t usually complain about things like this, as I am extremely grateful to have a place to live. I moved into my single apartment in June, I was welcomed with a mess of dirt and grime on the floors, walls and cabinets. The apartment was supposedly “cleaned” again. It did not meet my standards at all, my feet would turn black if I walked barefoot. My apartment has had issues with the toilet flooding, lights blinking, and my dishwasher falls out of the hole. Living here was the worst decision I have ever made. Staff is outright rude and unhelpful. I called for help multiple times in the two years I lived here. While things got better after the new management team came on, it didn’t last. My favorite interaction was maintenance staff telling me anything that broke in my apartment was probably my fault. This company is horrible. Very unorganized, the amenities are constantly unavailable, the snow and ice "removal" is a joke, the apartments are subpar, and trying to deal with the office staff is a nightmare. They don't care about their tenants at all. All you are to them is a check. They also wait 2-3 weeks to cash your rent checks half the time so don't expect your account balance to be accurate.
Me and my roommate have experienced a lot of house centipedes in the room, bathroom, kitchen and living area. We called the office and they sent pest control man but still we are having this horrific experience!! I would not recommend highland hills apartment because of their negligence since it has come to our attention that they do not spray insecticides outside of the apartment area which makes the insects come inside and terrify us.
Management is atrocious. Every year some issue comes up with renewing my daughter's lease and they pass the buck with no answers given. She pays on time every month. She's been trying to renew since MARCH. Now they are claiming they sent her a lease renewal in May electronically when neither she nor her roommate received. This is ridiculous. I've lived at several apartments after this and these people are by far and away the worst I've ever experienced. Literally disgusting how they treat people. Take extensive photos of your place or they will try and take essentially ALL of your deposit. THEY WILL TRY TO TAKE YOUR DEPOSIT EVEN WITH PICTURES. They will screw you over financially any time it is available to them. Awful place.
I have been living in Highlands for a year now and me like many other International Student's have been having a very hard time to manage with our expenses as most of us didn't have a job all this time since march, so didn't get paid.
