I am 17 years old and I had the worst experience today at high desert woman’s care. I decided I was going to bring my friend to my appointment today for support while I get my IUD put in. The lady was very forceful with the way she was doing my procedure. And was very disrespectful when it came to my weight and my overall health. My 17-year-old daughter recently came in for an IUD insertion. Unfortunately, I was unable to accompany her due to having a very sick toddler at home, so her best friend went with her for support. What they both described afterward was deeply concerning. My daughter said it was one of the worst medical experiences she has ever had. She felt shamed and judged, particularly when the provider made comments about her weight, including telling her she could have a stroke in a few years. Lori is extremely knowledgeable in women’s Healthcare and was able to diagnose and treat issues no one else could find. She’s informative, gives very clear explanations, and is always there to answer any questions I have. Her office has been very quick and responsive to my messages and refill requests.
