Why does the website, Facebook and door say you close at 8:30 and you turn people away at 7:50 saying the dining room is closed? There were other customers dining. Maybe off season business is so good you can turn people away and not honor your business hours? We won't be back to try again and will happily spend our money and positive reviews elsewhere.
The food was nothing great at all. Would much rather spend my money at one of the many small businesses on the obx. Made a simple complaint to the cashier about the to go packaging causing the juice from the vegetables to almost completely ruin my overpriced bbq sandwich. She did say was sorry, but she could have left it at that. Instead of hearing me out she immediately insinuated that my complaint was my fault. Wanted to try the collards, so got a small to go box. The cook took the time to tell me how he cooked them. They are fresh & very, very good. I'll be back for the LARGE Size....YUM. Oh, the ribs & smoked cabbage were good also. Thanks YA'LL
My wife and I go to the Outer Banks to see our son and his family about 4 times a year. And we hit High Cotton on every trip, as long as they're open. I always get a 3 meat combo and their food is absolutely delicious. Their Brunswick stew is out of this world. The owner and all of the employees are very nice. Keep up the good work and great food !!!

We have been visiting the Outer Banks for 16 years... this was our first visit to High Cotton...needless to say we are looking forward to our next trip so we can eat there again. The food is awesome..we had ribs, BBQ, brisket and fried chicken..took home a "doggie bag" and was able to have a lunch the next day. Staff was extremely friendly. We are certainly glad we tried High Cotton.

We visit OBX every year and this is the first time to High Cotton. Great food. Excellent service. They even brought us some free ribs. See you next year.
