This apartment complex is overall a great place to live, and the area is beautiful. However, they have water, mold, and insect - (SILVERFISH especially, and they never go away- They live in the walls) issues. Somewhat long battles with management to fix almost anything. I had to exterminate and caulk every crevice in my apartment due to silverfish, that their pest control never could rid. The issue with bugs drove me to paranoia and I had to leave. We’ve now lived here over three years. Our building is mostly quiet, screaming kids in the morning and somebody who smokes on our floor but we just keep to ourselves and ignore it. We know these are lower income apartments, however, they are starting to get expensive and every year we’ve renewed our 12-month lease it’s gone up $50 each time. Angel and Troy are great and they’ve done lots of updates to the outside but the inside of our apartment (and many others) are dated and things are wearing out. I've been a resident at Hidden Valley Apartments for over a decade and I can confidently say it's one of the best places to live in Hastings. From the moment I moved in the entire experience has been fantastic. My unit is spacious, the layout is great, I get good light but not too much. Maintenance is always quick to respond and professional. Any issue I've had has been resolved well. It's a peaceful and well maintained environment that feels like home. I've lived here ten years. Managment is very kind and understanding. Buildings are kept up to date and the property is maintained. Maintenance requests are fulfilled in a timely manner. If you are a responsible and respectful tenant renting here will be a delightful experience.
